Supporting Quick Retail Expansion and Navigating Complex Permitting
TVI, parent company of Savers, Value Village, and 2nd Avenue Thrift, has expanded across the U.S. and Canada, with PM Design serving as architect since 2018. TVI required consistent, responsive architectural support to navigate complex permitting, zoning, and site-specific challenges while piloting new initiatives like detached canopy donation lanes and remote site prototypes. PM Design acts as a single point of contact for design and permitting, initiating pre-application meetings with planning and zoning departments, providing due diligence, and recommending prototype layouts based on site constraints.
By anticipating issues, maintaining clear communication, and guiding jurisdictional approvals, PM Design has reduced city review timelines from six months to as little as thirty days, strengthened confidence in project schedules, and enabled TVI to expand efficiently while supporting its mission of reuse and community impact.
A Trusted Partner for Long-Term Growth
As TVI continues to explore new donation center models and expansion opportunities, PM Design remains committed to providing responsive service, thoughtful coordination, and scalable solutions. Together, we’re building spaces that make a difference for shoppers, donors, and the communities they serve.
