Supporting Grocery Evolution Across a Regional Portfolio
As part of PM Design’s broader relationship with Albertsons Companies, our team has supported Safeway locations across multiple regions of the United States. As grocery operations continue to evolve, our teams help deliver initiatives that improve functionality, support changing customer expectations, and position stores for long-term success.
Our work spans new store development, remodel programs, accessibility improvements, fuel additions, and operational upgrades designed to keep stores aligned with both business objectives and customer needs.
Adapting Stores to Changing Consumer Behaviors
Today’s grocery environments must support more than traditional in-store shopping. As consumer habits evolve, retailers are investing in new services, operational models, and technologies that require existing stores to adapt.
PM Design has supported a variety of Safeway initiatives, including interior and exterior remodels, Starbucks kiosks, restroom renovations, department reconfigurations, and fuel additions. Most recently, we helped support the rollout of Drive Up & Go, Safeway’s e-commerce pickup program. Implementing the program required new storage and pickup areas, along with modifications to departments and store layouts to accommodate changing shopping behaviors while maintaining efficient operations.
By combining architecture, engineering, accessibility compliance, and program coordination, we help Safeway continue evolving its portfolio while maintaining consistency across locations and markets.
